silverlinker beta
We've been given beta test status on SilverLinker (link to fulltext) until
3/31/00. Note, you need the ? at the end of the url and Eudora doesn't
seem to want to feed it to Netscape...
Webspirs 4.1 URL for searching databases:
http://webspirs4.silverplatter.com:8700/beta?
GeoREF, Inspec, and Sociological Abstracts are hosted with this
Webspirs.
username: yale
password: yale99
Will expire on: March 31, 2000
2 simultaneous users per database are allowed
At bottom is a problem they reported as known.
Now FYI -- I'm messing around with which titles I'm activating or not in
the administrative mode. (Which by the way, needs a user-interaction
design upgrade BADLY!)
Right now, only the following journals are activated (and only for very
recent years).
Addiction
Advances In Physics
Aerosol Science and Technology
AIDS Care
American Journal of Family Therapy
American Journal on Addictions
Amsterdamer Beiträge zur älteren Germanistik
Amsterdamer Beiträge zur neueren Germanistik
Annals of Human Biology
Annals of Science
Annals of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology
Applied Economics
Applied Economics Letters
Applied Financial Economics
Applied Occupational and Environmental Hygiene
Applied Psychology
Australian Feminist Studies
Australian Geographer
Australian Journal of Political Science
Brain Injury
I will be messing around with which journals are activated because I'm
doing testing of the admin mode. If you want to be kept informed about
what titles are active, send me a personal e-mail and I'll maintain a
mini-beta tester list for the coming month.
If you want to see the links in action, do a journal title search in the
beta test version (URL above).
Feed me any comments. I'm depending on you-all to test the links in the
user interface, since most of my beta-test time needs to be concentrated on
the admin/setup mode. Some quirks I may be able to affect using the admin
mode (after I figure it out a little more!) If not, I'll funnel back to
the SP beta people.

Problem with printing SilverLinker links in WebSPIRS
----------------------------------------------------
We are aware of a problem that when printing records in Netscape that
contain SilverLinker links to full-text articles, the printing can come
out
with very small fonts. This happens when SilverLinker links are
configured
to appear in a drop-down menu.
SOLUTION: * Users can de-select the FTXT field from the fields they
want
to print, before printing the records.
